The Excelsior School is a private, co-educational, English-medium school on Swayambhu Circle Road in Swoyambhu, Kathmandu. It was founded in 1992 and teaches children from nursery to Grade 10, preparing them for Nepal's Secondary Education Examination (SEE). It is a day school with no boarding. Background
The school has taught in Swoyambhu for more than three decades. It describes its mission as offering "quality education at affordable cost by using recent pedagogies", with the goal of raising "knowledgeable, inquiring and caring young people".
In 2072 BS (2015) the Ministry of Education named the school, then listed as The Excelsior Aawasiya Secondary School, the best private school in the former Central Development Region. According to Edusanjal, regional winners received Rs 100,000.
