Texas International Secondary School is a private, co-educational school in the Mitrapark–Chabahil area of north-east Kathmandu. It runs a full ladder of classes, starting with a Montessori section and going through the school grades to a +2 (Grades 11–12) programme affiliated with Nepal's National Examinations Board (NEB). Most families in Chabahil, Gaushala, Boudha and nearby areas know it for its +2 streams. The school also takes students who are preparing for medical and engineering entrance exams.
History and background
Edusanjal, a Nepali education portal, lists the school's founding year as 2009. The school's own website says it has been running for more than 17 years, which matches that date. It started as part of a wider education group in Chabahil. That group later added Texas International College, which teaches bachelor-level IT and management courses from the same neighbourhood, so students can go on to higher study without changing area.
The school says it has more than 12,500 alumni. Edusanjal's profile puts current enrolment at about 1,970 students. Most of them are in the +2 programme, which has become the school's largest section. The school describes its aim as good-quality education at an affordable fee, with attention to students' all-round development as well as exam results.
Students at the +2 level learn through projects, seminars and field visits as well as classroom lessons, as is common at Kathmandu's larger private +2 schools. The school offers several kinds of scholarship, including awards for academic achievement and need-based support. Details and eligibility are announced with each year's admission notice.

Campus and facilities
The school is in Chabahil, close to Mitrapark, and easy to reach from the Ring Road and the Gaushala–Chabahil corridor. Its website lists the following facilities:
- Separate physics, chemistry, biology and computer laboratories
- Technology-equipped classrooms (Edusanjal also reports CCTV in classrooms)
- Library with reference books and journals
- Hostel accommodation
- Cafeteria
- School transport
- Health-care support
What sets it apart
Few private schools in this part of Kathmandu offer +2 Law alongside Science, Management and Humanities, and Texas International is one of them. That gives students who are thinking about a legal career an NEB route in their own neighbourhood. For science students, entrance preparation for medicine and engineering starts in Grade XI and runs alongside the regular NEB course.
Because the school and Texas International College share one parent group, a family can keep a child in one place from Montessori to a bachelor's degree. The school runs Viber/WhatsApp enquiry lines for admissions and posts admission notices on education portals such as Edusanjal.
