Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited (MBL) was registered in 1998 as the first regional commercial bank from the western region of Nepal, starting its banking operations from Pokhara in 2000, near the foothills of the Machhapuchchhre mountain from which it takes its name.
The bank has since expanded into a full nationwide Class 'A' commercial bank, with its head office now at MBL Tower, Lazimpat, Kathmandu, and more than 150 branches across the country.
MBL provides a comprehensive range of services including retail and corporate banking, SME loans, digital and mobile banking, remittance, and merchant banking. It is internationally connected through SWIFT code MBLNNPKA, enabling secure cross-border transactions.
The bank is known for its 'Smart Bank, Go Digital' positioning, focusing on modern digital banking services alongside its traditional branch network.
