KIEC, registered as Kathmandu Infosys Educational Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., is one of the largest overseas education consultancies in Nepal. It was established on 19 September 2006 by Rajendra Rijal and operates from its head office at KIEC Avenue on Lalupatey Marg, Putalisadak, with sixteen branches across the country and offices in Australia and Bangladesh.
Accreditation
The consultancy is authorised by Nepal's Ministry of Education and is a member of the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal. It is certified by the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC), which audits agencies recruiting for US institutions, and holds QEAC, ITAC and USATC counsellor credentials. For students, those certifications are a practical signal: AIRC certification in particular is a requirement of many US universities before they will accept applications through an agent.
