Citizens Bank International Limited is a Class 'A' commercial bank licensed and regulated by Nepal Rastra Bank. It began operations on 20 April 2007 (7 Baisakh 2064 BS) as the twentieth commercial bank in Nepal, and serves individuals, small businesses and corporate clients from its head office at Narayanhiti in Kathmandu.
History
The bank was promoted by a group of Nepali business houses and professionals during the period when Nepal Rastra Bank was issuing a new round of commercial banking licences. It was founded with a stated focus on professional management and corporate governance, and its board and management have been drawn from established banking and business backgrounds.
The bank's shares are listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange, and its paid-up capital stands at about Rs 15.5 billion, placing it in the middle tier of Nepali commercial banks by size.
